Zoom Video Communications, Inc. stated that Zoom AI Companion, the company’s generative AI assistant, has hit a milestone less than two months after its launch, with over 125,000 accounts using AI Companion and creating over one million meeting summaries. Zoom also revealed new AI Companion features, more language support, and upgrades to existing capabilities.

Zoom AI Companion now has new capabilities.
AI Companion customers will be able to use the in-meeting inquiries feature in new languages beginning today, as well as receive brief meeting summary overviews at the start of lengthy meeting summaries.
- Users can now ask AI Companion questions during meetings in seven more languages (preview).
- Based on user input, meeting summaries now contain an overview at the top of the summary in emailed summaries, giving users a shorter version of the meeting summary in addition to the full meeting summary. In November, meeting summary overviews will be provided in summaries delivered via continuous meeting chat.

Zoom will continue to improve AI Companion, with the following new features set to launch in November:
- In preview, AI Companion meeting summary and in-meeting inquiries will support a total of 32 new languages.
- Beginning with voice analytics in Smart Recordings, AI Companion will give users with meeting coach capabilities. Speech analytics will include the meeting host’s talk-listen ratio, talk pace, and speech fillers, allowing hosts to get useful insights into how they interact with Zoom Meeting participants.
- AI Companion will be accessible in Zoom Events, providing chat compose features for lobby chats as well as aid with email composition for registration, marketing, and ticketing communications.
- Zoom will include an extra setting that will allow clients to select that AI Companion capabilities for their organization will only use the Zoom large language model.
