Nasuni, a leading hybrid cloud storage solution, announced Asim Zaheer as Chief Marketing Officer today. As the firm enters its next phase of growth, Zaheer will be in charge of scaling Nasuni’s global go-to-market strategy. Nasuni has named Matthew Grantham as Head of Worldwide Partners and Curt Douglas as Vice President of Sales for its western region.
The new appointments come as demand for hybrid cloud storage with distributed file shares and ransomware protection continues to rise. Consumption-based storage models, according to Gartner, will triple their share of total enterprise storage capacity in the next five years, and all storage solutions will feature active cyber defence and recovery capabilities by 2028.
“In my conversations with customers it is clear that enterprises need to replace traditional hardware-based file storage and data protection systems with a scalable cloud-native solution,” Zaheer stated. “Nasuni is a clear leader in the rapidly growing category of Hybrid Cloud Storage, with the market’s leading product.” I am happy to be able to contribute to the company’s global expansion at such an exciting moment.”
Zaheer has over 25 years of technology marketing experience from a variety of firms. Prior to Nasuni, he was CMO of Glassbox and spent more than ten years as CMO of Hitachi Vantara, where he helped create and drive the company’s multibillion-dollar IT division.
“Legacy file systems simply aren’t enough for the demands of today’s enterprises, which require cloud migration, advanced ransomware protection, and hybrid workforce support,” David Grant, president of Nasuni, stated. “Asim’s wealth of experience and the expertise Matthew and Curt bring to their roles will help propel Nasuni forward as we bring much-needed disruption to traditional file infrastructure and strategically grow our market share in the US and Europe.”
Matthew Grantham brings over 20 years of experience managing customer and partner connections to his work as the director of Nasuni’s partner programme. Grantham previously held the positions of Global Vice President of Channel Sales for Hyperscience as well as executive channel leadership positions at TenFold, Fuze, and others.
Curt Douglas has also joined Nasuni, where he will be in charge of the company’s western sales region. Douglas has over 20 years of expertise in enterprise technology, previously leading the West and Central US commercial business initiatives at Nutanix, as well as key sales roles at NetApp, IBM, and EMC.
Network-attached storage (NAS) is being replaced by the Nasuni File Data Platform, a hybrid cloud solution that offers easy scaling, integrated security, and edge performance. At a fraction of the cost of on-premises or alternative cloud options, the platform consolidates file data into readily extensible, extremely resilient object storage, such as Amazon S3, Azure Blob, and Google Cloud object storage. Nasuni gives enterprises the ability to manage files across any location with ease, boosting productivity, improving operational effectiveness, and reducing risk.
With more than 800 clients, including multiple Fortune 500 companies, in more than 70 countries, Nasuni has seen a year of remarkable development and expansion. Since the beginning of 2023, the business has announced new integrations with Microsoft Sentinel, a strengthened partnership with solutions provider Presidio, and the appointments of Pete Agresta as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and Jim Liddle as Chief Innovation Officer. The business last year surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR).
