Guidde, the generative AI-powered video documentation platform, today announced a $11.6 million Series A investment round headed by Norwest Venture Partners, with participation from current investors Entrée Capital, Honeystone Ventures, Crescendo Ventures, and new investor Tiferes Ventures. The Series A fundraising comes just a year after the company launched its product, bringing the total capital raised to $15.6 million. Guidde will utilize the funds to increase its technical and data science teams, as well as its go-to-market team, as it seeks to extend its global presence.
According to Okta’s Businesses at Work 2023 Report, organizations today rely on over 200 software apps on average to carry on their objective. As a result, staff are being asked to operate more tools with less training than ever before, which is having a detrimental impact on software uptake and engagement. With 69% of people preferring video over text when learning about a product or service, video is recognized as the most effective medium for driving adoption – yet creating video-based knowledge at scale remains a challenge. This is where Guidde comes in, arming teams with AI-powered video documentation. The solution uses generative AI to allow anybody to create, edit, and distribute how-to manuals for any software or process – with no prior design or video expertise required.
“Software apps have become essential to businesses of all sizes, but adoption issues such as knowledge sharing, onboarding, training, and support continue to be a source of concern across the board.” What today’s software lacks is a good navigation system,” said Yoav Einav, Co-Founder and CEO of Guidde.” “At Guidde, we’re creating the ‘Waze for software,’ which uses video to help you navigate any application.” Users are unlikely to remain interested in today’s landscape if they struggle to understand a product’s capabilities. We’ve used generative AI to create a system that increases app uptake, engagement, and retention rates.”
Today’s video production is fragmented, time-consuming, and difficult; it often involves many tools, and multiple personnel, and might take weeks to complete even a single movie. Guidde combines numerous point products with the power of artificial intelligence to produce a single platform that enables everyone in an organization to create, edit, distribute, and analyze video and documentation for any program in less time than it takes to brew a cup of coffee. The platform helps organizations to record and deliver their know-how at scale by combining application workflow knowledge with AI-generated plot, audio, motion, and interactivity.
“We recognized the need to accelerate our customers’ onboarding and time to value and have always felt that video was the right approach,” says Savinder Chauhan, Vice President of Support at Perforce. “Guide” has been a key enabler, not only in terms of speeding up video creation but also in increasing our capacity to create rich, diverse content across our portfolio.” Creating a normal video used to involve numerous tools and many hours, including video creation, layering graphics, recording a voiceover, and so on. We can now do it in less than five minutes.”
